  For the price, it's tough to beat. So long as you understand up front that it is an old hotel, with a bar beneath, and that many of the rooms (which they tell you up front) do not have their own bathroom. That said, the staff was always friendly, the rooms were always clean, and the place has so much character. So for the low price, and all that they do to make you feel comfortable, I say give it a chance. Just be sure to ask about the amenities of your room up front.

  I was hopeful that our stay was going to be amazing. Great location, historical building. We arrived early but were allowed to stash our luggage as we walked around Juneau. Upon returning, the receptionist unlocked the storage area for us but quickly returned to the front to assist another customer. No problem with us, but the owner came through, and immediately began verbally abusing the young lady in front of all guests because she had no idea why we were there. When we explained that we'd been let in as we were registered quests she stopped, but did not apologize to anyone present for the uncomfortable situation. Our kitchenette in the room contained no dishes, no utensils, and no cookware for us to use. When we inquired we were told that it wasn't provided but we were directed to a store where we could purchase them. Who doesn't provide this? It's why we booked a kitchenette, to save money on meals. Buy our own? Seriuosly? For three days we walked around food that was spilt on the stairway and never cleaned up. It is a beautiful building though, just needs new ownership and a bit of care and customer service.
